I got this great idea from my mom! She did it last year with the kids in kindergarten. I'm sure most of you have heard of the story "The Kissing Hand"--it's about a little raccoon who is scared to go to school so his mom gives him a kiss in his hand and tells him whenever he touches his cheek with his hand that he will always remember that she loves him. Anyways, I made these the other night and gave the book to Ella. I thought it was a cute way to start off the year, especially since this is her first time to be away for a full day. I can't believe it has come so soon and that she is so grown up!

That is so funny. We have the same book right now and Mya's kindergarden teacher read it to them their first day too and did the same darling cookies. Each parent had to trace their handprint and kiss them and leave them with our child as well. Such a sweet book. we just have it from the Library but it's a definate buyer!!!! So cute. They sure look yummy!!!!!!
Okay I'm officially copying you. Abby's first day is on the9th and she'll be getting that book. Heather nice one!!! Adorable. When I grow up...I want to be a mom like you:))

Well, although the idea is super cute, all I can think about is how yummy those cookies look -- Yowsers...Nice work.
Ya, Ryan's mom made sure that story was read at our wedding reception...every now and then when I get mad at Ryan he curls up in fetal position, rubs his hand against his cheek and keeps muttering, "mommy loves you, mommy loves you."
