Motorcycle Mason

Today we spent the day learning to ride Mason's bike. All I have to say is, he's such a little trooper. I don't know how many times he wiped out; all I managed to keep track of was the number of times he stopped without falling over: twice. Despite all that, he was still willing each time to try again. The rider came through the day with only a few bumps and bruises and the machine came through with only a bent shift lever.

Because Ella's legs are longer, she had an easier time managing the bike - except for one particular run, but I'll save that story for our next post. The real surprise though was Heather who absolutely loved riding. I hope it doesn't mean that she'll no longer be content to ride on the back of my bikes. She's been doing that since we were dating and I'd rather that tradition didn't end.

Speaking of traditions, tomorrow is Pierogi Sunday and everyone is in bed except me. Before I sign off, here is a picture of the haircut Cringer got today. I left the hair on his shoulders and chest long and mangy looking and shaved his back half (without a guard on the shaver) to look nice and lean. I also gave his tail a "fox-cut" (immediately after inventing the fox-cut).

Good night.

Chad! Those pictures of Mason are FANTASTIC! I see what you mean with the IS2 mode. Very cool!

Mason is officially the raddest nephew ever!

Thanks Tan, and good eye with spotting the mode I used.

Mason just showed us his shins and they've got a bunch of little bruises on them... and tomorrow he's going swimming with his school class. Uh, oh - we might be getting a visit.

Wow Mason! Your own motorbike at seven. You're SO lucky dude! It's not even a cheap Chinese knockoff from Canadian Tire. I can see by the three tuning forks on the gas tank that it is a genuine Yamaha. Rock on!

I can’t remember many things that are more fun than riding a motorbike. Just don’t let the cops catch you riding where your not supposed… oh wait… never mind.

Haha. Ya Lorin, Santa was looking at a Chinese-made Konker but decided that because the bike would be used and handed down by four siblings, it would be safer to go with one of the Big 4.
As everyone knows, Santa is a big fan of Red - but no Honda dealership could match the deal that Bow Cycle offered during their customer appreciation night.
My first bike was a Honda that my dad gave me when I was a kid, so it only seemed natural that I would start my son out on a Honda. It was a hard decision to go with the more economical Yamaha, but so far I am very impressed with what I see.

Just wondering if the cats haircut is considered animal cruelty? haha

Please don't let conrad know that Mason has a bike! One of two things will happen.... he will want one or he will become an added member of your family... as we will not be cool enough for him!

Ha! Don't call the SPCA, please Twyla. Actually I think Cringer likes his haircut. It's... flattering, like a guy in a belly shirt.
