A Predictable Post

Nothing very newsworthy happened this week. Usually it would be difficult to fill 12 column-inches with no story, but that's why I invented The Formula. All I have to do now is upload a picture from each of the following categories, and maybe write a couple thoughts.

The benefit is twofold:

1) Our readers get the coverage they expect on the issues they care about most (we cater to a fairly specific demographic).

2) My editor is happy because a more recent post moves CHEMTD back to the top of the, "FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND PEOPLE I LIKE!" list on Tanis' blog (the only place that we really get any readers from). We never stay at the top of that list for very long, but such is the competitive nature of this industry.

So now that you know how the magic works, please enjoy the post.

A picture of a cute kid:

Here we have Deacon helping Heather pack some kitchen supplies in anticipation of the upcoming move. He has just started to sit up on his own and it has made him, easily, 40% more cute.

A picture of a pet:

Heather was finding some cat hair around the house and from the length, she deduced that it had come from Cringer's tail. No problem, I just fired up the clippers and turned the elegant fox-tail into a more hygienic lion-tail.

A picture of some yummy food:

For our Snake Party last week, Heather made a batch of "Old Fashioned Chocolate Buttermilk Brownies" and topped them with vanilla icecream, semi-sweet chocolate sauce, and raspberries. So good!

A picture of something awesome:

Yesterday afternoon we had a backyard hotdog roast, but only after Mason washed his motorcycle. Our photo archive is full of pictures of the kids washing some of the different bikes I have owned; it's a bit of a tradition and they each have their own sponge and take turns on the hose (their favorite part). After all the times that Mason has helped me wash my bikes, it would only be fair for me to help him with his. But on the other hand, I couldn't risk getting the camera wet...

So it's as simple as that! Another deadline met, and we are now back on top of Tanis' list...

but you already knew that, didn't you? ; )

Ha Ha Ha. People aren't coming to your site from mine. Your blog is what shows up when people google "Ugly Freakish Cats"

Just saying

Yikes! I thought I was the only one who paid attention to where his name was on the "FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND PEOPLE I LIKE!" list. I swear my blog’s hit count doubles or triples whenever I make it to the top for a few hours. Sometimes I even make it into double digits! (And don’t you just hate it when you finally publish a new post after about three weeks of languishing deep down in the seldom ever seen part of the list and an hour later someone else bumps you off the top again.) Anyway, I too am thankful to Tanis for sending a few readers my way.

And Chad, if I may say, with some blogs it doesn’t matter so much what the person writes about but how they write it. You (and your sisters) all have a great way with words and are always so much fun to read. I only wish I could write half as well.

Tanis, That comment made Cringer cry a little bit.

Lorin, it's awesome that you noticed the same thing. Let's just hope that Tanis doesn't start charging us for the advertising. But you're being too modest about your writing. You are the one that has set the standard that forces CHEMTD to try and keep up.
