Happy Halloween!

The kids are all ready with their costumes and we are really looking forward to T-or-T'ing with the cousins this year. We haven't carved a pumpkin yet, but I guess there is still time. Last night after Heather went to bed, I fashioned this Halloween Willow Tree figurine out of an older, non-festive one that she had.
(Ha - that line just reminded me of a Jack Handy quote - maybe it's the bumpy whittle marks that triggered it):

"I remember how my Great Uncle Jerry would sit on the porch and whittle all day long. Once he whittled me a toy boat out of a larger toy boat I had. It was almost as good as the first one, except now it had bumpy whittle marks all over it. And no paint, because he had whittled off the paint."

Here are the closest Halloween-related Jack Handy quotes I could find:

"Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done."

"If they ever have a haunted house for dogs, I think a good display would be a bathtub full of soapy water."

"I wish I had a kryptonite cross, because then you could keep Dracula and Superman away."

"There is nothing sadder than a mosquito sucking on a mummy. Give it up little guy."

Have a safe night everyone,

- C
